Guide · 7Running in Claude
Connect 7Running to Claude.
Once connected, you write your request to Claude and it saves it in your 7Running account: a plan built by hand, or a session changed in your coach plan. You add it once, from a computer.
Add 7Running to Claude
Claude opens with the name and address already filled in. You check, then confirm.
Or paste this address into Claude: https://7running.coach/mcp/plan
What you need
- A Claude account. The free plan allows one custom connector.
- A 7Running account. Drafts are free, activating a plan takes the Club.
- ChatGPT: coming soon
On a computer · Six steps, once.
- Open the connector dialog in Claude. Easiest: the “Add 7Running to Claude” button. By hand: in Claude, Customize, then Connectors, then “+ Add” and “Add custom connector”.
- Check the name and address, then “Add”. Name: 7Running. Address:
https://7running.coach/mcp/plan. Keep the connection settings Claude suggests; depending on your account, it goes through “Continue” before “Add”. - Click “Connect” next to 7Running. 7Running shows up in your connectors with a “Custom” label. If Claude sends you straight to 7Running, go to the next step.
- On 7Running, click “Allow”. Sign in to your 7Running account if asked. On claude.ai the page opens in the same tab; with the Claude desktop app, in your browser. You then land back in Claude, with 7Running connected.
- In a chat, turn 7Running on and ask. The “+” button in the message box, then Connectors: the 7Running toggle must be on. Before writing to your plan, Claude may ask for permission; “Always allow” saves you from giving it every time.
- Your plan is waiting as a draft in 7Running. Claude gives you the link. You also find it in the 7Running menu, under Training, marked “draft”. You review and edit it like a plan built by hand. When it suits you: “Activate plan”. Without the Club, the draft stays in your account and this button opens the Club offer.
On your phone. Add 7Running from a computer, on claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app. It is then available in the Claude app on your phone. Claude also offers adding from the phone, still in beta: the computer remains the safest path.

Write the way you talk. Claude reads your account before acting: it knows your paces and your plans.
Do it all by hand
Claude builds the plan, you stay in control.
- “Build me a 10K plan over 8 weeks, 3 runs a week, I ride my bike on Wednesdays. Save it in 7Running.”
- “Prepare a plan for a half marathon on March 7: 4 runs a week, long run on Sunday, a lighter week every four weeks.”
- “In my hand-built plan, add 6 strides at the end of Friday's easy run, every week.”
Change a session of your coach plan
One session at a time, in the current, previous or next week.
- “Can you see my current plan? What do I have this week?”
- “Move my long run to Sunday.”
- “Replace Thursday with a 40 min easy jog.”
- “Put back the session the coach planned on Tuesday.”
Adapt your week
You give the constraint, Claude changes the sessions involved.
- “I can't run on Wednesday this week, move the session to Thursday.”
- “I'm travelling on Saturday: make it a rest day.”
- “Busy week at work: turn Thursday's intervals into 45 min of easy running.”
What Claude can do in 7Running
- Plans built by hand. It creates them, rewrites them and changes their sessions. A new plan arrives as a draft.
- Coach plans. It changes one session at a time, in the current, previous or next week, as you can in the app. Never a session already done, never a race day.
- Paces. The ones in “My paces”. If you have none yet, Claude asks for your VO2max speed or a recent race time.
- Activation. With the Club, when you ask for it. Two active plans at most.
- What it doesn't do. It doesn't create coach plans. A plan made by Claude doesn't adapt by itself every week: it is a plan built by hand.
Questions
What does Claude see in my account?
Your paces and your plans, with their sessions. Never your Garmin or Strava runs, nor anything about your health: 7Running doesn't give them to it.
Which plan do I need?
At Claude, the free plan allows one custom connector; Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise too. On Team or Enterprise, the organization owner adds the connector, then you click “Connect”. At 7Running, a free account is enough for drafts; activating a plan takes the Club.
Claude doesn't see something new in 7Running?
When 7Running changes what Claude can do, disconnect 7Running in Claude (Customize, then Connectors), then reconnect it. Claude then reads the updated list.
How do I remove access?
In Claude: Customize, then Connectors, open 7Running and disconnect it, or remove it with the three-dot menu (“Remove”). In 7Running: Watches and apps (in My account, or You in the app), then “Remove access” on the Claude card.
Is a session changed by Claude the same as in the app?
Yes: Claude goes through the same functions as the app. It's as if you had changed the session yourself.
What about ChatGPT?
Coming soon. Today OpenAI keeps adding a server like 7Running to its Business, Enterprise and Edu plans (read-only on Pro), and we haven't tried it ourselves yet.
